A 23-year-old Palestinian man named Hussain Khalayla Javan, who is residing in the town of Al-Samou in Hebron (al-Khalil), targeted a group of Israeli settlers in Tel Aviv on July 4.
During the retaliatory attack, at least seven Israelis were wounded, three of whom are reported to be in critical condition.
According to Hebrew-language media outlets, the attacker was wearing police uniform and after attacking several Israeli settlers by the use of a vehicle and running over the Israelis, he fired gunshots at the settlers.
In the end, the executor of the operation was killed as a result of shooting by an Israeli person.
The operation has caused a wave of panic among Israelis residing in Tel Aviv and the city’s police chief ordered all forces to be on alert.
Hazem Qassem, a spokesman for the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas, stated that “the operation was the first response to the Israeli occupiers’ crimes against the people in the Jenin city and the Jenin Refugee Camp, and that the Israeli regime will pay for its criminal acts.”
Khaled al-Batsh, head of the politburo of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad in the Gaza Strip, underscored that the retaliatory operation in Tel Aviv is the first measure by the resistance movement in response to the criminal attack committed by the enemy in Jenin.
