Russian MoD Shares Details On Recent Odessa Strikes, Ground Attack In Kupyansk (Videos)South Front


The Russian military has carried out a series of pinpoint strikes with sea and air-launched high-precision weapons against high-value Ukrainian targets, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced on July 19.

In a statement, the ministry said that the strikes targeted military industry facilities, fuel infrastructure and ammunition depots of Kiev forces in the Odessa region as well as Kanatovo Air Base of the Ukrainian Air Force in the Kirovograd region.

The ministry also announced that the Russian Zapad Group of Forces had made new ground gains in the Kurpyansk direction.

Russian troops advanced more than a kilometer in depth and up to two kilometers along the front, the ministry said, adding that the Molchanovo railway station in the Kharkov region was captured.

In addition, the group carried out a series of air and artillery strikes against Ukrainian units near Sinkovka, Kislovka, Berestovoye and Novosyolovskoye. An ammunition depot of the 103th Brigade of Ukraine’s Territorial Defense located near Peschanoye was also targeted and destroyed.

According to the ministry, Ukrainian losses in this direction amounted to 70 troops, two armored fighting vehicles, three motor vehicles, a Polish-made Krab and a Soviet-made Gvozdika self-propelled howitzers as well as an American-made AN/TPQ-50 counter-battery radar station.

The situation in other directions, according to the statement of the Russian MoD:

The AFU [Armed Forces of Ukraine] continued to attempt offensive actions in Donetsk, Krasny Liman and South Donetsk directions.

In the Donetsk direction, as a result of concerted action by units of the Yug Group of Forces, aviation, artillery, and heavy flamethrower systems, 25 enemy attacks have been successfully repelled close to Belogorovka, Pervomayskoye, Nevelskoye, Maryinka, Severnoye and north-west of Kleshcheevka (Donetsk People’s Republic).

In addition, AFU manpower and hardware have been hit near Seversk, Chasov Yar, Toretsk and Krasnogorovka (Donetsk People’s Republic).

1 ammunition depot of the AFU 110th Mechanised Brigade has been destroyed near Avdeevka (Donetsk People’s Republic).

The enemy losses were up to 340 Ukrainian servicemen, 2 tanks, 3 armoured fighting vehicles, 4 pickup trucks, 1 German-manufactured Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled howitzer, 2 Polish-manufactured Krab self-propelled artillery systems, 1 Gvozdika self-propelled artillery systems, and 2 D-30 howitzers.

In the Krasny Liman direction, units of the Tsentr Group of Forces, artillery, and Operational-Tactical and Army aviation have repelled 4 enemy attacks close to Karmazinovka, Shipilovka, Kremennaya and Belogorovka (Lugansk People’s Republic).

AFU units have been hit close to Novosadovoye, Yampolovka and Serebryanka (Donetsk People’s Republic).

The actions of 1 Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group have been disrupted close to Torskoye (Donetsk People’s Republic).

1 ammunition depot of the AFU 100th Territorial Defence Brigade has been destroyed near Yampol (Donetsk People’s Republic).

The enemy losses were up to 100 Ukrainian servicemen, 2 armored fighting vehicles, 3 motor vehicles, 2 Gvozdika self-propelled artillery systems, and 2 D-30 howitzers.

In the South Donetsk direction, as a result of active actions by Operational-Tactical and Army aviation, as well as artillery by the Vostok Group of Forces, an enemy attack has been repelled close to Rabotino (Zaporozhye region).

AFU manpower and hardware have been hit near Priyutnoye (Zaporozhye region), Makarovka and Rovnopol (Donetsk People’s Republic).

The actions of 1 Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group have been disrupted close to Staromayorskoye (Donetsk People’s Republic).

In the Zaporozhye direction, manpower and hardware clusters of the AFU have been hit close to Novopokrovka and Malaya Tokmachka (Zaporozhye region).

The actions of 1 Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group have been suppressed near Marfopol (Zaporozhye region).

7 ammunition depots of the 23rd, 33rd mechanized, 128th mountain assault and 44th artillery brigades of the AFU have been destroyed near Berezovoye (Dnepropetrovsk region), Malaya Tokmachka, Rabotino, Preobrazhenka, Uspenovka and Novoyakovlevka (Zaporozhye region).

The enemy losses were up to 170 Ukrainian servicemen, 2 tanks, 9 armored fighting vehicles, 4 motor vehicles, 1 Msta-B howitzer, 3 D-20 guns, 1 Gvozdika self-propelled artillery system, and 1 U.S.-manufactured AN/TPQ-50 counter-battery radar station.

In the Kherson direction, as a result of complex fire, the enemy losses were up to 50 Ukrainian servicemen, 1 armored fighting vehicle, 3 pickup trucks and 1 D-30 howitzer.

Operational-Tactical and Army aviation, Missile Troops and Artillery of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have neutralized 92 artillery units of the AFU at their firing positions, manpower and military hardware at 106 areas.

1 AFU fuel and lubricant base has been destroyed near Zaporozhye.

Fighter Aviation of Russian Aerospace Forces have shot down 1 AFU Su-25 aircraft near Razdolnoye (Donetsk People’s Republic).

Air defense facilities have shot down 1 Mi-8 helicopter near Kutkovka (Kharkov region).

5 HIMARS multiple-launch rocket system projectiles have also been intercepted.

18 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles have been destroyed close to Kupyansk (Kharkov region), Kremennaya, Berestovoye, Privolye (Lugansk People’s Republic), Krasnaya Gora, Opytnoye, Pokrovskoye, Staromlynovka (Donetsk People’s Republic), Pologi, Lyubimovka and Fedorovka (Zaporozhye region).

In total, 456 airplanes, 243 helicopters, 5,108 unmanned aerial vehicles, 426 air defense missile systems, 10,761 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, 1,139 fighting vehicles equipped with MLRS, 5,522 field artillery cannons and mortars, as well as 11,752 special military motor vehicles have been destroyed during the special military operation.

Meanwhile, a video that surfaced online showed Russian troops repelling a Ukrainian attack in the direction of Bakhmut and destroying armored vehicles. Another video from the front shows Russian strikes on a gathering of Ukrainian equipment in an unspecified direction.

The Russian MoD also released two videos showing the work of Msta-S self-propelled howitzers and Tornado-S heavy multiple rocket launchers.

All in all, Ukraine’s counteroffensive, which started more than a month and a half ago, appears to be failing. Kiev forces are still bogged down kilometers away from the Russian military’s first line of defense and their losses are mounting.
