A Facebook page posted a fake video showing cardiologist Willie Ong promoting a niacinamide toothpaste which could allegedly whiten teeth instantly.
BodyAid Niacinamide Toothpaste, the product in question, is not registered under the FDA’s list of cosmetic products.
The video made it look like Ong was promoting the product as it showed snippets of him gesturing while explaining the alleged benefits of using the toothpaste.
Ong has repeatedly denied endorsing any other product aside from a milk supplement for the elderly.
VERA Files Fact Check previously debunked a Facebook impostor of SM Megamall which also featured Ong as promoting the fake toothpaste.
Posted by Facebook page GV & Chill PH (created on Sept. 5, 2023 under the name Apo Sagrado Ng Batangas) the fake video garnered 8,915 reactions, 9,973 comments, and 1.1 million views.
