_{MANDARAGAT, a song dedicated to all Filipino Seafarers in commemoration of the International Seafarers Day last June 25, 2020. This was produced and presented for the online forum entitled “Tribute to Seafarers. The song was written and produced by Fr. June Mark Yanez of Mission to Seafarers, Antwerp Belgium and Fr. Chris Abdon of Iglesia Filipina Independiente (IFI).}

Last June 25, in commemoration of the International Day of the Seafarers 2026, the International Seafarers Action Center and the Concerned Seafarers of the Philippines organized a speakout event entitled “After the Ceasefire: Seafarers Fight Back!” held in the National Council of Churches in the Philippines.

The event aimed to raise the ongoing plight, hardships and struggles of Filipino seafarers impacted by the global economic crisis and the US-led war on Iran, and expose the realities of exploitative and inhumane working conditions at sea and the government neglect they face when seeking assistance and protection from the Philippine government.
