Kiev forces sustained more material and human losses while attempting to conduct offensive operations in the special military operation.

During a briefing on June 9, the press chief of the Russian Zapad Group of Forces detailed some of Kiev’s forces’ recent losses.

According to the commander, a howitzer was destroyed by a Lancet loitering munition near the town of Kupyansk. Strikes by BM-21 Grad 122 mm multiple rocket launchers also destroyed three Kozak armored vehicles during an attempt to rotate units of the 103th brigade of Kiev’s forces near the villages of Kislovka and Novaya Tarasovka.

In addition, Tornado-S 300 mm multiple rocket launchers targeted an echelon with military equipment at the Balakleya railway station. An ammunition wagon and 15 trucks were destroyed as a result of the rocket strike.

TOS-1A 220 mm thermobaric rocket launchers also targeted the accumulation of manpower of Kiev forces near the settlement of Novoselovskoye.

Moreover, a small Ukrainian drone was shot down by a Tor short-range air defense system over an unspecified area in the special military operation zone.

Video footage that surfaced online provided more details on recent Ukrainian losses. Two videos show the destruction of two towed howitzers of Kiev forces, a D-30 122 mm and an M777 155 mm. A Lancet loitering munition was used to take out the D-30, while the M777 was destroyed with artillery.

Another video that was released by the Russian Ministry of Defense shows the work of Grad rocket launchers in the special military operation zone.

The remaining videos document engagements in different sectors in the Zaporozhye region. The videos show the destruction of several main battle tanks and infantry fighting vehicles of Kiev Forces as well as a pinpoint airstrike on a Ukrainian position.

During June 8, Kiev forces launched a large attack in Zaporozhye in the framework of their so-called spring counteroffensive. However, they failed to make any gains.

The special military operation zone will likely experience more escalation in the upcoming few days. Kiev forces are reportedly amassing on several sectors in Zaporozhye and preparing to launch new attacks to break through Russian defenses.
