Iranian President Arrives in Nicaragua on Official Visit | News



Iranian President Seyed Ebrahim Raisi arrived on Tuesday in Nicaragua on an official visit after visiting Venezuela, the first stop on his tour of Latin America.

The Persian head of state arrived at Augusto C. Sandino airport in Managua, accompanied by First Lady Jamileh Alamolhoda. 

Raisi and the delegation accompanying him, including members of his cabinet: the ministers of Health, Culture, Oil and Economic Diplomacy, were received by Nicaraguan Foreign Minister Denis Moncada. 

The Iranian president will meet in the coming hours with his Nicaraguan counterpart Daniel Ortega.  On Wednesday, the Iranian president will visit the Parliament of the Central American country.

The President of Iran arrives in Nicaragua accompanied by a high-level commission. The Persian president is making his first visit to Latin America since taking office in 2021.

According to official media, both presidents will sign cooperation agreements in several areas. In Caracas, Raisi signed with Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro 25 cooperation agreements. 

The Iranian president’s tour of the region also includes Cuba, his last stop.

This is Raisi’s first visit to Latin America since he took office in 2021.
