On May 12, 2023, the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck targets in Luhansk using several cruise or tactical missiles.
Today the LPR (Luhansk People’s Republic) celebrates its birthday. It is on this day that Kiev apparently decided to use British long-range Storm Shadow missiles, the deliveries of which were previously announced by London. In its turn, Luhansk is out of range for HIMARS systems.
The day before yesterday, London announced that it had already transferred Storm Shadow missiles to Ukraine. The upgrade of the Ukrainian air force bombers for them began back in the fall of 2022.
Shortly before the explosions near the Poly-Pak enterprise in Luhansk, residents of the Druzhkivka settlement, which is controlled by the AFU, reported the sound of flying aircraft and rocket launches over the settlement. Therefore, it is highly likely that it was British Storm Shadow cruise missiles that struck the LPR capital.
As a result, the missiles hit “Machine Building Plant “100”, which specializes in the production of equipment for electronic engineering industry and the Poly-Pack polymer production facility in Luhansk. A fire broke out.
There are significant damages, but no information about casualties so far.
