The situation on the Ukrainian front remains generally unchanged.
After breaking through the main defense line of the AFU in Bakhmut, the Wagnerians liberated the Medical College and the military unit. In the southern part of the city, Russian units are storming the positions in the area of Chaykovskogo Street. Bakhmut Industrial College, one of the key strongholds of the AFU in the area, was taken under the control of the fighters of the Wagner PMC. Evgeny Prigozhin reported that the statements about the role of regular units of the Russian Armed Forces near Bakhmut do not correspond to reality. The businessman noted that the flanks, which are formally held by the regular Russian army, do not cease to be the area of responsibility of the Wagner PMC, because if the fighters are removed from these positions, the Ukrainian military can pass through the abandoned positions and cut off the advancing group of “musicians”. However, despite all this, the “orchestra” assault units continue to press the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the strategic city and attack from several directions at once.
Ukrainian formations fired HIMARS rockets at the town of Bryanka in the Luhansk People’s Republic. The shelling damaged residential buildings, a gas station, an employment center, and a power transmission line.
South of Avdeevka, Ukrainian formations attempted to regain lost territory on the approaches to Severnoye. Russian forces repulsed attacks by AFU assault squads and launched a counterattack, pushing the enemy back to their original lines.
A Russian tank destroys AFU positions:
In addition, the destruction of ammunition depots of the 72nd and 110th AFU brigades in the areas of Shakhterskoye, Donetsk Region, and Uspenovka, Zaporizhzhya Region, over the past 24 hours was reported.
Russia launched an attack on the Ukrainian “Kherson” group command stack. The target of the attack is claimed to have been achieved.
The Russian Armed Forces struck 92 artillery positions and 126 AFU staging areas during the past 24 hours. A Ukrainian Mi-8 over Raigorodok was shot down, and 14 drones and 4 rockets were intercepted. On the line of contact the AFU lost about 925 servicemen, 11 armored vehicles, 23 vehicles, 3 D-20 and 4 D-30 howitzers, 3 tanks, 3 infantry fighting vehicles, Akatsiya and Gvozdika self-propelled vehicles, 2 AN/TPQ-50 radar stations over the day. There is still no information about losses of the Russian Armed Forces.
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), meanwhile, outlawed foreign mercenaries near Bakhmut and warned the public to provide up-to-date information on foreign arms smuggling. Allegedly, the West only demonstrates the latest combat systems, which are transferred to the Ukrainian troops. In reality, Kiev only receives obsolete and physically obsolete weapons. But even these weapons do not reach the line of contact. On the way they are sold to Iraq, African countries and Syria by foreign mercenaries. That is why all units of “soldiers of fortune” that are currently in Bakhmut and the outskirts of the city, the SBU declared illegal. It also called on the civilian population and the military on a mandatory basis to report facts of sale of weapons by mercenary fighters to a specially created telegram bot.
Such a circumstance may affect the situation on the front negatively for the Ukrainians, since one of the reasons for the arrival of foreign mercenaries to Ukraine is precisely the prospect of participation in machinations that the whole world knows about. Perhaps now the concept of “war to the last Ukrainian” is becoming more and more real.
