On the night of July 3, Israeli security forces launched the largest anti-terror operation since 2002 in the Palestinian city of Jenin in West Bank. Both aviation and ground forces of the army, the Border police and the General Security Service were deployed in the operation called Home and Garden.

On July 3, Israel launched rocket attacks on the city of Jenin and a refugee camp. Large IDF forces entered the city, after which armed clashes between security forces and Palestinians began.

On July 4, the Israel Defense Forces reported the destroyed of an underground mine with explosives and two operational headquarters belonging to terrorist organizations.

According to the latest data from the Palestinian Ministry of Health, as a result of the special operation in Jenin, 8 people were killed, about 50 were injured, among them at least 10 are in critical condition. The Red Crescent Organization announced the evacuation of several hundred families from the refugee camp. Two Israeli servicemen were reportedly killed.

Numerous videos from the city confirmed Israeli forces murdering civilians in the city. Israeli bulldozer was filmed attempting to run over Palestinian civilians near hospital in Jenin camp.

The Israeli Forces are accused of targeting journalists covering the raid on the West Bank town. Footage shows a military vehicle shooting at a camera set-up belonging to the Al Arabya TV in the street.

Israeli UAV was shot down over the city:

The Israeli military attempted to avoid the very word “operation” to describe the hostilities in an attempt to avoid criticism of the international community, declaring that the invasion is limited and will not last long. Initially, the operation was supposed to take up to 48 hours. However, later, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that it will continue as long as necessary until the mission is fulfilled. At the same time, an escalation of the situation is not excluded in other areas in the West Bank, where clashes between Palestinians and Israeli security forces have already broken out. Israel was also preparing for a possible upcoming rocket attack from the Gaza Strip.

In response to the operation, the Palestinian leadership cut off all contacts with Israel. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed concern about the Israeli operation.
