The Russian military has inflicted more human and material losses on Kiev forces while repelling attacks in different directions.
On July 15, the Russian Yug Group of Forces said that it had repelled four attacks in the Lisichansk and Soledaro-Bakhmut directions. In addition, three assault detachments from Ukraine’s 60th Mechanized Brigade suffered losses while trying to break through in the direction of the Berkhovsky reservoir. The group’s forces also repelled an attack by several assault groups of Kiev forces in the direction of Kleshchievka.
Moreover, Ukrainian gatherings of manpower and equipment near Lisichansky, Soledaro-Bakhmut, Alexander-Kalinovsky and Avdeevsky were targeted with air and rocket strikes. Two ammunition depots in the Seversk and Verkhnekamenskoye settlements were also hit.
Another gathering of Ukraine’s 24th Mechanized Brigade in the outskirts of the Chervonoe settlement was targeted with Tornado-S heavy multiple rocket launchers.
Meanwhile in the Kupyansk direction, Ka-52, Mi-28 attack helicopters and Su-25 close air support fighter jets of the Russian Zapad Group of Forces carried out eight strikes on against troops and equipment from Ukraine’s 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade and territorial defense battalions.
In addition, the artillery of the group thwarted two attempts to rotate units of the 32nd Separate Mechanized Brigade at the front near the settlement of Novoselovskoe.
Near Berestovoy, Stelmakhovka and Tabaevka, the group’s T-72B3 and T-80 tanks, Msta-S self-propelled and Giacint-B towed howitzers targeted the positions of 32 Separate Mechanized Brigade. The total losses of Kiev forces amounted to more than a platoon of troops and two pickup trucks.
During the counter-battery fire in the direction, the group’s D-30 towed howitzers destroyed two mortars near the settlement Novoselovskoye.
Three new videos from the front show a number of recent strikes by Ka-52 attack helicopters against Ukrainian armored vehicles as well as two strikes with Lancet loitering munitions that destroyed an American-made M777 towed howitzer and a T-64 tank.
A third video from the direction of Zaphorohey showed artillery strikes against a Ukrainian reconnaissance and sabotage group. Another one from Bakhmut showed several destroyed or damaged armored vehicles of Kiev forces.
In Zahphorohey, an American-made ScanEagle 2 reconnaissance was shot down by Russian air defenses. Photos of the wreckage surfaced online.
Overall, Kiev forces continue to sustain losses without making any progress in any direction. Despite this, the Ukrainian counteroffensive will likely go on for weeks, if not months due to pressure from the United States and other NATO backers.
