Last night, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) attempted to attack another Russian warship in the Black Sea. The “Priazovie” ship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet was targeted with six unmanned boats when it was patrolling the area of the Turkish Stream and Blue Stream gas pipelines in the southeastern part of the Black Sea, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.

According to the Russian Ministry, the attack took place at about 1.30 am Moscow time. The AFU made an unsuccessful attempt to attack the ship “Priazovie” of the Black Sea Fleet which was performing the tasks of monitoring the situation and ensuring security along the routes of the Turkish Stream and Blue Stream gas pipelines in the southeastern part of the Black Sea.

The attack was carried out by six high-speed unmanned boats. All of them were destroyed by fire from the standard armament of the Russian ship 300 kilometers south-east of Sevastopol. There are no casualties. The ship was not damaged, the Russian Defence Ministry reported. The ship “Priazovye” of the Black Sea Fleet continues to fulfill its tasks.

As during previous similar attacks, the strategic reconnaissance UAV RQ-4B “Global Hawk” of the US Air Force conducted reconnaissance in the airspace of the central part of the Black Sea.

With support of NATO, Kiev attempted to attack the Russian ship which evacuated citizens of Ukraine, the US, the UK and other NATO member states from the conflict zone in Yemen in 2015. The ship “Priazovye” was performing anti-piracy tasks in the Gulf of Aden.

Then, “Priazovie” evacuated 308 people from Yemen who were citizens of 19 states. They included:

  •  45 citizens of Russia,
  • the United States – 18,
  • Great Britain – 5,
  • Bulgaria – 1,
  • Estonia – 6,
  • Ukraine – 14,
  • the Republic of Belarus – 9,
  • Turkmenistan – 3,
  • Uzbekistan – 8,
  • Azerbaijan – 5,
  • Bahrain – 1,
  • Djibouti – 5,
  • Yemen – 159,
  • Somalia – 1,
  • Palestine – 3,
  • Jordan – 13,
  • Cuba – 9, E
  • Egypt – 2,

Ukrainian attacks on Russian warships are carried out with close support of the NATO military, including reconnaissance means and supply of unmanned boats.

The previous similar incident took place on the morning of May 24. The AFU attempted to attack another Russian reconnaissance ship Ivan Khurs of the Black Sea Fleet. The ship was ensuring the safety of the Turkish Stream and Blue Stream gas pipelines in the Black Sea. Despite Kiev’s attempts to declare another victory, the crew of the Russian ship destroyed all the three drones and Ivan Khurs was not damaged. LINK, LINK, LINK
