London Will Train Ukrainian Pilots, Send Long-Range UAVs, Anti-Aircraft Missile Systems To Kiev - Report

Sunak welcomes Zelensky In London

On May 15, Zelensky came to London. According to The Telegraph, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak intends to announce a new aid package for Ukraine, which will include “hundreds of anti-aircraft missile systems” and long-range attack drones.

The promised weapons  reportedly “will be delivered in the coming months, as Ukraine is preparing to increase its resistance,” the Prime Minister’s office said. The drones that the UK is going to transfer to Ukraine reportedly have a range of more than 200 km.

Last week, London sent another long—range weapon to Ukraine, which are Storm Shadow cruise missiles capable of hitting targets at a distance of more than 250 km. These missiles are already targeting the city of Luhansk in the LPR.

“The UK is a leader when it comes to expanding our capabilities on earth and in the sky,” Zelensky said.

On the same day, the press service of the British government reported that the first phase of training Ukrainian pilots in the UK to control aircraft of various types will begin in the summer. London will also continue its efforts to provide the AFU with F-16 fighters, which the Kiev regime is asking for.

Since the beginning of full-scale hostilities in Ukraine, the UK has already trained 15 thousand Ukrainian military on its territory, and from 2014 to 2022, 22 thousand employees were trained.

Last year, London provided military support to Ukraine for £2.3 billion. The British authorities have pledged not to reduce support this year.

Russian Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the new military supplies announced by Britain to Ukraine “certainly lead to further destruction, further retaliatory actions.”

“For Ukraine, this story is being made much more difficult,” Peskov said.

Prior to his visit to London, Zelensky visited Italy and the Vatican, and then Germany and France. Paris announced that it would hand over dozens of armored vehicles and light tanks to the Ukrainian military.
