Members of the International League of Peoples’ Struggle (ILPS) gathered in person in Barcelona, Catalunya on November 20, 2025 ahead of its 25th year of anti-imperialist struggle and 8th International Assembly. The event also marked the official launch of its anniversary campaign under the banner: ”25 Years of Peoples’ Unity and Struggle! Surging Forward to Victory against Imperialism!”.
Victor Garces, ILPS Vice Chairperson for Internal Affairs, spoke about the history of ILPS and its work in linking grassroots struggles to the broader global anti-imperialist movement since its founding.
Regional vice chairpersons shared updates on ongoing campaigns and people-led actions resisting fascism and exploitation on all fronts across their respective regions. Hassan Al Jaajaa, ILPS Regional Vice Chairperson for West Asia, expressed gratitude for the continued solidarity to the people of Palestine, Syria, and Lebanon in their struggle against settler colonialism, imperialism, and genocide. He also discussed the current situation in Gaza particularly on restrictions imposed on the Palestinians undermining their livelihood, food security, and survival.
Members of the International Coordinating Committee (ICC) of the ILPS also announced the newly formed ILPS Spain chapter.
