On July 2, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that Kiev forces had launched several attacks in the Donetsk, Krasny Liman and South Donetsk sectors.
The ministry said in a statement that the Russian Yug Group of Forces repelled 11 attacks close to Artyomovsk, Vodyanoye, Novobakhmutovka, Severnoye, Pervomayskoye and Maryinka in the Donetsk direction.
Russian air and artillery strikes against Kiev forces in the sector neutralized 360 troops, six tanks, eight infantry fighting vehicles, five motor vehicles, a U.S.-manufactured M119 towed gun, a Polish-made Krab self-propelled howitzer and a Gvozdika self-propelled howitzer.
In addition, ammunition depots of the 92nd mechanized and 95th airborne assault brigades located near Seversk and Grigorovka were targeted, according to the ministry.
Meanwhile in the Krasny Liman direction, the Russian Tsentr Group of Forces repelled three attacks by the Ukrainian 95th Airborne Assault Brigade and 66th Mechanised Brigade close to Torskoye , Chervonaya Dibrov and Nevskoye.
The ministry added that gatherings of manpower and equipment were targeted near Terny, Grigorovka and Chervonaya Dibrova. Moreover, the activities of a Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group was also suppressed close to Kuzmino.
According to the ministry’s statement, Ukrainian losses in this direction amounted to 95 troops, a tank, two infantry fighting vehicles, an armored fighting vehicle, a pickup truck, and two D-30 howitzers.
In the South Donetsk direction, the Russian Vostok Group of Forces repelled yet another near Nikolskoye. Furthermore, in the Vremevka salient area, a Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group has been neutralized near Rovnopol. Russian forces also targeted gatherings of manpower and equipment of Kiev forces near Makarovka.
The situation in other directions, according to the statement of the Russian MoD:
In Zaporozhye direction, as a result of the active actions by Operational-Tactical aviation of the Vostok Group of Forces, AFU manpower and hardware concentration areas of the units of the 33rd Mechanised Brigade have been hit near Pyatikhatka and Mirnoye (Zaporozhye region).
The enemy losses were up to 150 Ukrainian servicemen killed and wounded, 1 tank, 2 infantry fighting vehicles, 2 armored fighting vehicles, 3 motor vehicles, as well as 1 FH70 howitzer.
In Kupyansk direction, as a result of active actions by the Zapad Group of Forces, Operational-Tactical and Army aviation, as well as artillery, 2 enemy attacks have been repelled near Novosyolovskoye (Lugansk People’s Republic).
In addition, Russian troops inflicted fire on manpower and hardware concentration areas of the 14th and 37th mechanized brigades of the AFU close to Novomlynsk, Dvurechnaya, Sinkovka, Berestovoye (Kharkov region) and Novosyolovskoye (Lugansk People’s Republic).
The activities of 1 Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group have been suppressed close to Stelmakhovka (Lugansk People’s Republic).
The enemy losses were up to 40 Ukrainian servicemen, 1 armored fighting vehicle, 2 pickup trucks, and 1 D-20 howitzer.
2 ammunition depots of the units of the 103rd Territorial Defence Brigade have been destroyed near Kislovka.
In Kherson direction, the destruction of the AFU units that landed on Antonovsky Island in the Antonovsky Bridge area has been completed.
The enemy losses were up to 20 Ukrainian servicemen, 2 motor vehicles and 2 U.S.-manufactured M777 howitzers.Operational-Tactical and Army aviation, Missile Troops and Artillery of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have neutralized 79 AFU artillery units at their firing positions, manpower and hardware in 108 areas.
In the Kharkov region, AFU military hardware delivered from the central and western regions of Ukraine has been hit in places of unloading at railway stations close to Balakleya and Chuguev. The control points of the AFU 28th and 54th mechanized brigades have been hit close to Aleksandro-Shultino, Razdolovka and Vesyoloye (Donetsk People’s Republic).
Air defenses have shot down 1 Su-25 aircraft of Ukrainian Air Force near Novoandreevka (Zaporozhye region). 4 HIMARS multiple-launch rocket system projectiles and 1 HARM anti-radar missile have been intercepted.
In addition, 14 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles have been destroyed close to Soledar, Krasnaya Gora, Yakovlevka, Volodino, Egorovka, Orlinskoye (Donetsk People’s Republic), Kuibyshevo (Zaporozhye region), Belogorovka and Novokrasnyanka (Lugansk People’s Republic).
In total, 445 airplanes, 240 helicopters, 4,859 unmanned aerial vehicles, 426 air defense missile systems, 10,472 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, 1,134 fighting vehicles equipped with MLRS, 5,300 field artillery cannons and mortars, as well as 11,365 special military motor vehicles have been destroyed during the special military operation.
In addition, the Russian MoD shared footage showing the work of Giatsint-B towed 152 mm howitzers as well as recent strikes by Mi-35 attack helicopters.
As Ukraine’s counteroffensive enters its fifth week, its forces appear to be bogged down on all sectors. Despite sustaining heavy losses in manpower and equipment, Kiev’s gains remain limited to a few small villages some of which are located more than ten kilometers away from the Russian military’s first line of defense.
