Russian MoD Says Kiev Forces Lost 200 Troops, 33 Tanks While On Attack In Zaporozhye (Videos)

On June 18, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that Kiev forces had launched new attacks in the Zaporozhye, south Donetsk and Donetsk sectors.

In a statement, the ministry said that the most active action took place in Zaporozhye, where a large Ukrainian force attacked.

Three Ukrainian tactical groups, backed with tanks and armored fighting vehicles, made unsuccessful offensive attempts in several waves close to the settlements of Novopokrovka, Novodanilovka and Malaya Tokmachka. The attacks were all repelled by the Russian Vostok Group of Forces, aviation and artillery, the ministry said.

In addition, four Ukrainian convoys were targeted with artillery fire near Malaya Tokmachka. As of the shelling, nine tanks, ten infantry fighting vehicles and up to ten other armored fighting vehicles were destroyed.

The ministry said that the total losses of Kiev forces in Zaporozhye amounted to 200 troops, 33 tanks, 30 infantry fighting vehicles and 35 armored fighting vehicles.

Meanwhile in the South Donetsk sector, four Ukrainian attacks were repelled close to the settlements of Novodonetskoye, Rovnopol in the Donetsk regions and Novodovarovka in the Zaporozhye region near the Vremevka salient.

Kiev forces lost 380 troops, 35 tanks, 33 infantry fighting vehicles, including two American-made Bradley vehicles, 38 armored fighting vehicles, including one American-made Stryker armored personnel carrier, and one D-20 howitzer in this sector, according to the ministry.

In the Donetsk sector, the Russian Yug Group of Forces repelled eight attacks close to the settlements of Kirovo, Pervomayskoye, Krasnogorovka, Nevelskoye and Maryinka.

Russian warplanes also launched strikes against units of the 79th Airborne Assault Brigade, the 110th Mechanised Brigade and the 129th Territorial Defence Brigade near the settlements of Novgorodskoye, Avdeevka and Pobeda.

Ukrainian losses in this sector were 210 troops, one infantry fighting vehicle, one armored personnel carrier, three motor vehicles, two pickup trucks and a single BM-21 Grad multiple rocket launch system.

The situation in other directions, according to the statement of the Russian MoD:

An ammunition depot of the AFU [Armed Forces of Ukraine] 109th Territorial Defence Brigade has been destroyed near Sukhaya Balka (Kherson region).

In Kupyansk direction, the attacks, launched by Operational-Tactical and Army aviation, as well as artillery of the Zapad Group of Forces, have resulted in the neutralization of the enemy manpower and hardware close to Figalyovka, Masyutovka, Kislovka, Timkovka (Kharkov region), and Stelmakhovka (Lugansk People’s Republic).

The actions of 2 Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups have been suppressed close to Berestovoye (Kharkov region), and Novosyolovka (Lugansk People’s Republic).

The enemy losses were up to 60 Ukrainian servicemen, 3 pickup trucks, 1 Msta-B howitzer and 1 Polish-made Krab self-propelled artillery system.

In Krasny Liman direction, aviation and artillery of the Tsentr Group of Forces have hit enemy units near Nevskoye, Chervonopopovka, Kuzmino, (Lugansk People’s Republic), Serebyanka (Donetsk People’s Republic).

The activities of 2 Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups have been suppressed close to Chervonaya Dibrova (Lugansk People’s Republic) and Grigorovka (Donetsk People’s Republic).

The enemy losses were up to 70 Ukrainian servicemen, 1 infantry fighting vehicle, 2 motor vehicles, 1 Akatsiya self-propelled artillery system, as well as 1 D-30 howitzer.

In Kherson direction, the enemy losses were over 30 servicemen, 2 motor vehicles, 1 U.S.-manufactured M777 artillery system, 1 Msta-B howitzer, as well as 1 Giatsint-B gun.

An ammunition depot of the AFU 123th Brigade of the Territorial Defense of Ukraine has been destroyed near Kizomys (Kherson region).

Operational-Tactical and Army aviation, Missile Troops and Artillery of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have neutralized 113 AFU artillery units at their firing positions, manpower and hardware in 124 areas.

One U.S.-manufactured AN/TPQ-50 counterbattery warfare radar has been destroyed near Maksimilyanovka(Donetsk People’s Republic).

Air defense systems intercepted one Storm Shadow long-range cruise missile and 2 HIMARS projectiles.

In addition, 18 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles have been shot down close to Egorovka, Vladimirovka, Spornoye, Rovnopol (Donetsk People’s Republic), Topolevka, Rubezhnoye, Melovatka (Lugansk People’s Republic), Peschanoye (Kherson region), Marfopol, Pshenichnoye, Removka and Podgornoye (Zaporozhye region).

In total, 444 airplanes, 239 helicopters, 4,686 unmanned aerial vehicles, 426 air defense missile systems, 10,156 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, 1,125 fighting vehicles equipped with MLRS, 5,149 field artillery cannons and mortars, as well as 11,028 special military motor vehicles have been destroyed during the special military operation.

The Russian MoD also released a video showing some of the losses Kiev forces sustained in the Zaporozhye sector and another showing recent strikes by Ka-52 attack helicopters against Ukrainian armored vehicles.

Overall, it appears that the Kiev regime has decided to step up its attacks across the frontline in an attempt to make up for the initial failure of its so-called spring counteroffensive. So far, Ukrainian forces have paid a heavy price to capture seven small villages that are located kilometers away from the first Russian defense line.
