Ukrainian UAVs Targeted Three Russian Border Regions At Once

On the night of May 10, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) targeted Russian military facility with two UAVs in the Voronezh region located on the border with Ukraine.

The governor of the Russian region confirmed the attack. According to the official data, two UAVs with explosives targeted an undisclosed military facility. The attack was thwarted. One of the UAVs was reportedly suppressed by Russian electronic warfare means and fell nearby. The second was shot down by Russian fire. There are no casualties as a result of the attack. Information about the wounded is being clarified.

According to unconfirmed reports by Russian media, the UAVs targeted a military training ground. According to some other reports, the target was a tent military camp. They reportedly approached the facility and exploded when falling. As a result, 14 Russian servicemen were reportedly wounded.

The same Russian Voronezh region was targeted by Ukrainian UAVs on May 9. An unidentified flying object flying at an altitude of 500 m was shot down near a military airfield. The wreckage was found near the local cemetery and was sent for examination. the attack resulted in no damage.

Other Russian border regions were are also constantly targeted by Ukrainian UAVs. On May 10, two drones were spotted in the Belgorod region. One of them was shot down by Russian forces. The second UAV reportedly crashed into a power line and exploded. Today, another UAV was reportedly shot down in the Kursk region. The wreckage fell in the village of Tolmachevo. The attack resulted in no damage.

The number of Ukrainian UAVs targeting the Russian territory has recently increased. The primary targets for the Ukrainian attacks are the military airfields where the Russian aircraft used for the strikes throughout Ukraine are stationed. At the same time, the ongoing attempts of Ukrainian UAVs  to cross the Russian border and reach the rear areas provide the Ukrainian military and NATO with the strategically important information on the Russian air defence means.
