Two Facebook (FB) posts claimed that radiologist and content creator Dr. Alvin Francisco is promoting a brand of glutathione collagen gummies. These are fake.
The bogus posts claim to warn against scams using the doctor’s name. Clicking the attached links redirects netizens to fake online health websites asking for personal information.
“Wala po akong binebentang gluta gummies, collagenax, apple cider, nature glow, etc. Lahat po yan ay scam at ginagamit lang ang mukha ko. Maging maingat po tayo,” Francisco said in an FB post dated April 30.
(I don’t sell any [glutathione] gummies [named] Apple Cider [or] Nature Glow, etc. All of these are scams that use my image. Let’s be cautious.)
Nature Glow Glutathione Collagen Glow Gummies, the product being endorsed, is not in the Food and Drug Administration’s list of registered food products.
In September 2023, Francisco warned netizens against collagen gummies, coffee, trail mix, and barley products that use his name to sell products. The fake posts actually used this video to make it look like they carry links to legitimate health sites.
VERA Files Fact Check has previously debunked claims using the same modus.
The fake ads, posted by FB pages 𝐃𝐨𝐜 𝐀𝐥𝐯𝐢𝐧 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐓𝐢𝐩𝐬 and Glutathione Collagen Gummies on April 26 and 28, garnered a total of over 413,200 interactions.
