Banned ang bagong Barbie movie sa Vietnam dahil sa mapa na isinama umano ang ilegal na nine-dash line claim ng China. Pero dito sa Pilipinas, sabi ng MTRCB, walang sapat na basehan para i-ban ang pelikula dahil hindi naman ipinakikita dito ang “nine-dash line” claim ng China.
Paliwanag ng Warner Bros. Film Group sa interview sa Variety: “The map in Barbie Land is a child-like crayon drawing… The doodles depict Barbie’s make-believe journey from Barbie Land to the ‘real world.’ It was not intended to make any type of statement.”
