Ang Bayan Ngayon » Democratic groups demand surfacing of kidnapped veteran Mindanao labor organizer

April 11, 2024

Kilusang Mayo Uno and democratic organizers have strongly condemned the US-Marcos regime and its fascist tentacles for the arrest and secret detention of William Lariosa, a veteran labor organizer in Southern Mindanao.

State agents abducted Lariosa, 63, on April 10 in Barangay Butong, Quezon, Bukidnon. Until now, his relatives and friends do not know where he was taken.

Lariosa and his family have been under fire from the military for a long time. He took refuge in Bukidnon after receiving multiple threats and harassment.

“William Lariosa must be surfaced immediately!” KMU demands. It also called on fellow workers to intensify the fight for labor rights, and collectively hold the US-Marcos regime accountable for its violation of the basic rights of the people.
