MANILA — Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP) leads the peasant-led protest against corruption, resource plunder, and human rights violations. Peasant organizations from Negros Island, Southern Tagalog, and Central Luzon held a caravan from the Department of Agrarian Reform in Quezon City to Liwasang Bonifacio in Manila, where they joined other progressive multi-sectoral groups under the Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan) for a program and a march to Mendiola. Today’s protest action marks the culmination of a series of peasant-led campaigns and advocacy activities carried out across Metro Manila.
