The barbaric and blood thirsty Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), and National Task Force (NTF)-ELCAC under the mandate of the past US-Duterte regime and carried over by the US-Macos II regime continuously destroy the lives of the people in Negros. Ceaseless killings of the already oppressed farmers, farm workers and revolutionary martyrs are demonic acts against the people of God. Hamletting, illegal arrests, killings, harassments & intimidations, indiscriminate firing, bombings, red-taggings and many more are their tactics to suppress the freedom and welfare of the people, trying to defend and protect the interest of big land lords and big comprador bourgeoisie together with their foreign capitalist cohorts. Their interest on the natural resources in the island are their primary intention to dominate and control the region. Thus, the spilled blood of revolutionary martyrs and the masses will serve as fertilizer for the revolutionary movement to strengthen and expand its ranks to overthrow the fascist regime by dismantling its diabolic, anti-people arms—the NTF-ELCAC, AFP and PNP.
Amidst the deceptive scheme and counterrevolutionary offensives of the US-Marcos II regime, revolutionary Church leaders, priests, pastors, religious men and women and lay Church workers in Negros gathered recently and held a holistic event on the island, the Second Regional Congress of the Christians for National Liberation (CNL)-Negros.
The delegates of the congress united on the reading of the national and regional situations, discussed and adopted the statutes, and the Five Point Program of the National CNL. Significantly, a Regional Council and Officers were elected and a Regional CNL Tactical Plan was formulated and approved.
Furthermore, the CNL-Negros Congress resolved to vigorously consolidate and expand the CNL among the ranks of the church sub-sectors on the island, influence the institutional Church to be with the people’s struggle, join and support the revolutionary armed struggle, launch the anti- imperialist movements, work for the demilitarization of the island and abolition of the NTF-ELCAC, support the GRP-NDFP Peace Talks Campaigns, help strengthen the basic alliance of peasants and workers, and broaden the alliance of the motive forces of the revolution.
The Congress culminated by honoring the martyrs who sacrificed and shed blood for the blossoming of the CNL-Negros and the peoples’ struggle for national liberation through a revolutionary liturgy.
