PRWC » Emerge stronger and more daring in confronting the oppressive and exploitative Marcos II regime

As an organization deeply committed to serving the people, Kabataang Makabayan – South Central Negros extends its militant greetings to our fellow comrades and the Filipino masses as we celebrate the 55th anniversary of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP). This significant milestone unequivocally shows the Party’s genuine intention, resilience, and determination to advance national democracy and socialism. For over half a century, the Party has fearlessly led the revolutionary movement in our nation with unwavering resolve to practice and uphold the principles of Marxism-Leninism-Maoism while taking into account the specific characteristics of advancing the people’s war in the Philippine context.

With a rich history spanning generations, the noble duty of the CPP embarks on the mission of consolidating its valiant cadres and forging solidarity with the masses through revolutionary works. The CPP also ensures that decision-making processes are inclusive, transparent, and representative of the collective will through its adherence to democratic centralism. This commitment to democratic values ensures that the Party remains accountable to its members and the broader community it serves.

Additionally, the Party conducts meticulous assessments to evaluate its progress, identify areas for improvement, and adapt to changing circumstances. By engaging in criticism and self-criticism (CSC), the Party demonstrates its dedication to self-reflection, continuous growth, and rectification. With the steadfast support of its armed wing, the New People’s Army (NPA), and the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP), the Party has fulfilled its mandate, surpassing challenges along the way.

Until now, the role of the CPP in safeguarding the interests of the Filipino people continues to be relevant in the face of the reactionary government’s intensifying attacks against the downtrodden Filipino masses. Under the illegitimate administration of Marcos Jr., the Filipinos incessantly endured a never-ending downward spiral of living standards. Basic necessities have become increasingly unaffordable, pushing many families into poverty. The lack of access to essential services and resources has further exacerbated the burdens faced by ordinary citizens.

The administration’s brutal response to those who dare to speak out against the status quo becomes more prevalent. This resulted in a climate of fear and intimidation, denying individuals their fundamental rights to freedom of expression and assembly. Exploitation is also evident under Marcos Jr.’s rule; the scarcity of job opportunities has left many Filipinos fighting tooth and nail to secure stable employment, leading to widespread unemployment and underemployment. Those fortunate enough to find work often face meager wages that fail to provide for their basic needs.

Landlessness remains a problem that not only strips individuals of their livelihoods but also fuels social and economic disparities within the country. The Filipino people have endured these hardships under the weight of an administration that lacks legitimacy.

In recent weeks, Negros Island recorded new human rights violations: two pregnant Red fighters who are deemed hors de combat were abducted by the 11th Infantry Battalion and the abduction of a young farmer in La Castellana, Negros Occidental. The two pregnant women were paraded as “surrenderees,” serving as nothing more than trophies of the AFP—an age-old tactic to feed their delusions as the AFP has long harbored an elusive aspiration to dismantle the revolutionary movement.

The nation has also witnessed the resounding protests of transport groups that have erupted across various regions, vehemently opposing the anti-poor PUV “modernization” program. This brazen act, slated to commence on the first day of 2024, threatens to ruthlessly strip Filipino Public Utility Vehicle (PUV) drivers of their essential source of income. Moreover, various sectors continue the struggle for their economic and political demands, contributing to the over all struggle for national liberation and social justice. As such, the revolution continues to surge forward as the material condition calls for it.

More so, we pay tribute to the Party’s late founder, Jose Maria Sison, and the countless Red fighters, cadres, and mass activists who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the pursuit of genuine social change. Their valuable contributions will not be in vain, as an increasing number of young people have firmly embraced the teachings of Karl Marx, Vladimir Lenin, and Mao Zedong.

As the beacons of our nation’s aspirations, we vow that our ranks will emerge stronger and more daring in the coming days as we confront the desperate efforts of the oppressive and exploitative Marcos Jr. regime. In an all-out effort, the revolutionary youth heeds the necessity of strengthening our support for the cause by improving our ideological, political, and organizational works, simultaneously urging the majority of us to partake in armed struggle.###
