Russian MoD Announces Attack On Decision-Making Center In Kiev (Videos)

On June 17, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that it had targeted decision-making centers in the Ukrainian capital, Kiev.

In a statement, the ministry said that the Russian military launched strikes with long-range sea- and air-based high-precision missiles against one of the decision-making centers of Kiev forces, adding that the was successful.

“The assigned target has been neutralized,” the statement reads.

The ministry added that Kiev forces launched more attacks in the south Donetsk and Zaporozhye and Donetsk sectors over the past 24 hours.

Close to the Vremevka salient, three attacks were repelled by the troops, air strikes and artillery of the Russian Vostok Group of Forces near Novodonetskoye in the Donetsk region and Levadnoye in the Zaporozhye region. Kiev forces lost 30 personnel, two tanks tanks and two infantry fighting vehicles during the attacks, according to the ministry.

Meanwhile in the Zaporozhye direction, Russian troops repelled three attacks near the settlements of Zherebyanka, Malaya Tokmachka and Mirnoye.

In addition, as a result of the shelling of advancing Ukrainian reserves, five armoured fighting vehicles were destroyed near Stepovoye in Zaporozhye.

Ukrainian losses in this direction amounted to 235 troops, four tanks, two infantry fighting vehicles, 14 armored fighting vehicles, a U.S.-manufactured M777 howitzers, as well as a D-20 howitzer.

In the Donetsk direction, the Russian Yug Group of Forces repelled seven attacks by Kiev forces close to the settlements of Belogorovka, Verkhnekamenka in the Lugansk region as well as near Novokalinovo, Pervomaiskoye and Maryinka in Donetsk.

The ministry added that units of the Ukrainian 46th Airmobile Brigade and 109th Territorial Defence Brigade were also hit by air strikes near Maryinka and Novgorodskoye.

In this direction, Kiev forces lost 340 Ukrainian troops, an infantry fighting vehicle, two armored fighting vehicles, five high mobility vehicles and two D-30 howitzers.

The situation in other directions, according to the statement of the Russian MoD:

In the Kupyansk direction, the attacks, strikes by the Operational-Tactical and Army aviation and artillery of the Zapad Group of Forces, have resulted in the neutralization of the AFU [Armed Forces of Ukraine] manpower and hardware close to Sinkovka, Timkovka, Kislovka and Berestovoye (Kharkov region).

Ome Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group has been neutralized close to Novosyolovskoye (Lugansk People’s Republic).

The enemy losses were over 40 Ukrainian servicemen, 1 armored personnel carrier, 2 motor vehicles and 2 D-30 howitzers.

In the Krasny Liman direction, aviation and artillery of the Tsentr Group of Forces have hit enemy units near Nevskoye, Chervonaya Dibrova (Lugansk People’s Republic), Yampolovka (Donetsk People’s Republic) and Serebryansky forest.

The activities of a Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group have been suppressed close to Kuzmino (Lugansk People’s Republic).

he enemy losses were up to 50 Ukrainian servicemen, 1 infantry fighting vehicle, 2 Gvozdika self-propelled artillery systems, and D-20 and D-30 howitzers.

In the Kherson direction, the enemy losses were up to 40 servicemen, 2 motor vehicles, 1 Giatsint-B howitzer, and 2 Gvozdika self-propelled artillery systems.

Operational-Tactical and Army aviation, Missile Troops and Artillery of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have neutralized 97 AFU artillery units at their firing positions, manpower and hardware in 103 areas.

2 P-18 detection radars have been hit close to Novopavlovka (Donetsk People’s Republic) and Tomarino (Kherson region).

1 guidance and detection radar of Ukrainian S-300 air defense missile system has been destroyed near Dachnoye (Donetsk People’s Republic).

The 95th Air Assault Brigade’s battalion command and observation post has been hit near Yampol (Donetsk People’s Republic).

Russian Aerospace Forces fighter aircraft have shot down 1 Mi-24 of Ukrainian Air Force near Kramatorsk (Donetsk People’s Republic).

Air defense facilities have intercepted 6 HIMARS and Uragan rocket-propelled projectiles. In addition, 16 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles have been shot down close to Zhovtnyovoye, Berestovoye (Kharkov region), Molodyozhnoye, Lozovoye, Opytnoye (Donetsk People’s Republic), Nikolayevka (Lugansk People’s Republic), Shevchenkovo, Chubaryovka, Gladkoye, Lyubimovka and Novoye (Zaporozhye region).
In total, 444 airplanes, 239 helicopters, 4,668 unmanned aerial vehicles, 426 air Defence missile systems, 10,047 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, 1,124 fighting vehicles equipped with MLRS, 5,141 field artillery cannons and mortars, as well as 10,996 special military motor vehicles have been destroyed during the special military operation.

In addition, the Russian MoD released videos documenting the work of T-90M main battle tanks and UR-77 mine clearing systems in the special operation zone as well as recent strikes with FPV suicide drones against fortified positions of Kiev forces.

Ukraine launched its so-called spring counteroffensive on June 4. Despite sustaining heavy losses in equipment and manpower, its forces have not yet reached the first line of defense of Russian forces.
