Fire reported in Kryvyi Rig
On the night of July 8, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation launched another wave of strikes on the military facilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) throughout the country. Last night, explosions were reported in the cities of Krivyi Rig and Dnipro.
Air alert sounded in the Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovograd, Mykolaiv, Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv and Cherkasy regions, as well as in the areas controlled by Ukrainian forces in the Donetsk People’s Republic, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.
The Ukrainian authorities explained the explosions by the work of Ukrainian Air Defense Forces which were trying to intercept Russian UAVs. However, they failed to shot down their targets. The governor of Dnipropetrivsk region confirmed that Russian UAVs hit targets in Krivyi Rih. According to him, the strikes allegedly destroyed a civilian agricultural entreprise. According to the local authorities, two large fires broke out on the spot and they covered an area of about 300 square meters.
Obviously, the Russian military has no reason to waste the UAVs and expensive missiles to target a civilian facility, until it is used by the Ukrainian military, for example, to store the military equipment and ammunition. As a result of the strikes in Krivyi Rig, military warehouses were reportedly destroyed, unidentified military equipment and vehicles were damaged.
Earlier, on July 7, Russian strikes destroyed more military facilities in the city of Zaporozhye, military equipment in the town of Kramatorsk. The local authorities reported that a fire broke out in a warehouse in the city of Ochakiv in the Mykolaiv region. Another ‘entreprise’ was struck in the Dnipropetrivsk region. Fire was also reported in Krivyi Rig.
Russian forces continue daily strikes on the Ukrainian military facilities in the rear areas, causing significant damage to military potential of the AFU amid their ongoing attempts to launch offensive operations on the Zaporozhye, Southern Donetsk and Artyomovsk front lines.
