The Pentagon has officially recognized the participation of its military personnel in the war against Russia in Ukraine. Washington sent 43 employees of the US Armed Forces Cyber National Mission Force (CNMF) to Ukraine to participate in cyber operations.
43 US military specialists in Ukraine are fighting Russian cyber attacks during the war. The Pentagon traditionally claimed that these are allegedly defensive measures. U.S. Army Major General William Hartman said that “those are defense teams we send, and (they) hunt for shared adversaries, find tools and capabilities”.
According to the data published in December 2022 on the website Cyber Command of the US Armed Forces, the Pentagon has 39 CNMF groups with a total number of personnel of about 2000 people. They include military personnel of all types of the armed forces, as well as representatives of the National Security Agency and the Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense.
The United States has been sending computer specialists to other countries to combat cyber threats since 2018. In total, they conducted 47 operations in 20 countries, including Albania, Northern Macedonia, Ukraine, Croatia, Montenegro and Estonia.
“The demand for that only increases, and they are not all the same,” Hartman, CNMF’s commander, said of the missions.
The US cyber army continues to work in the interests of the Zelensky regime. American specialists are engaged not only in repelling hacker attacks, but are also able to carry out such offensive operations. Washington officially confirmed that their military specialists are working in Ukraine, have access to Ukrainian security systems, including military data, and they are fighting for the interest of Kiev.
