On April 25, Ukrainian pilots attempted a suicide operation in the Kherson region. Two Ukrainian aircraft were operating of the Dnieper River near the village of Golaya Pristan, likely covering another attempt of Ukrainian sabotage group to cross the river and land on an island.

As a result of the reckless action of the Ukrainian military, one Ukrainian attack aircraft was destroyed, and the other flew away in a hurry.

According to preliminary reports, the intercepted aircraft was the Su-25 of the Ukrainian Air Force. It was struck by Russian MANPADS and crashed on the western bank of the Dnieper River near the village of Veletenskoe.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue attempts to land on the islands in the Dnieper estuary. The Ukrainian military is expected to establish some military positions in this swampy area to shell Russian forces on the eastern bank and disrupt them with the increased activity of small sabotage groups on motorboats. At the same time, the AFU may attempt to cross the Dnieper and attack Russian positions in the area of Kahovka water reservoir.

Military operations in the Kherson region will be mainly aimed at preventing Russian troops from transferring reinforcements to other regions where the AFU is expected to launch the main offensive, for example, in the Zaporozhye region. However, Ukraine’s attempts to attack in the southern steppes will be accompanied by heavy losses, since the Russian side still retains its advantage in the sky, and the advancing Ukrainian units will become an easy target for Russian artillery.
