On April 30, the head of the Wagner PMC reported that Wagner fighters are in control of 58,000 square meters of Bakhmut, while only 2,900 square meters remain under the control of the AFU.

Today, the units of the Wagner PMC have advanced up to 230 meters in various directions. Prigozhin added that this advance was paid for with the lives of 99 Wagner fighters during the day.

According to Prigozhin, there would be five or even more times less victims among the PMCs if Russian war bureaucrats would not limit the amount of ammunition received by PMCs and would not create an artificial “ammunition hunger”.

Earlier on the same day, Wagner sources reported that daily losses of the AFU, including dead and wounded, amount up to 500 people per day.

The Russian Ministry of Defence reported that Wagner fighters supported by the Airborne Forces and the Southern Military District took control of four more quarters in Bakhmut. During the past day, Russian aviation carried out 4 mission sorties. The artillery of the group completed 61 firing tasks.

In the city center, Wagner fighters are already in control of a military unit and the medical college north and south of Chaikovskoho street. Fighting is ongoing in the apartment buildings northeast of the intersection of Levanevsky and Liberators of Donbass streets.

In the north-western districts of Bakhmut, Russian fighters are advancing along Tolbukhin, Pobedy and Levanevsky streets. Southwest of the intersection of the streets of Dekabrists and Alexander Matrosov, the Russians took control of several more houses.

On the city outskirts, fighting is ongoing in Khromovo and Bogdanovka. At the same time, Russian forces are striking the Ukranian military in the towns located nearby. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, as a result of the recent missile strike on the temporary deployment points of the 24th Mechanized Brigade and the detachment of special operations forces of the AFU in Konstantinovka up to 200 Ukrainian servicemen were destroyed, while about 280 more were evacuated with injuries of varying severity.

The day before, up to 200 tons of Ukrainian ammunition were destroyed by Russian strikes on a train at a railway station in the area of Kramatorsk.

In its turn, the Ukrainian military continues attempts to launch counter offensive attacks in the Bakhmut region. Another group of Ukrainian servicemen was destroyed during their recent attempt to unblock the E-40 highway leading from Bakhmut to Slavyansk. As a result, the Ukrainian group on four armored vehicles was destroyed in the area of the village of Privolye.

The battle for Bakhmut did not end in April, and the Russian military is yet to claim control of the city. Bloody fighting continues, claiming the lives of hundreds of servicemen from both sides every day. Ukrainian troops are still retreating, while Russian fighters continue storming advantageous Ukrainian positions in the hills on the western bank of the Bakhmutka River. Kiev still controls several square kilometers in the western districts of Bakhmut and does not stop sending reserves to the Bakhmut grinder in an attempt to inflict as much damage as possible to the Wagner PMC before the upcoming large-scale counteroffensive in the Donbass.
